Have I Got Sport For You in development
- The BBC is developing Have I Got Sport For You, a spin-off from Have I Got News For You
- The new format - featuring sport stars and comedians - is expected to launch on BBC One at the end of the year
- Radio 4 previously broadcast a show titled Have I Got Sport For You in 2012, with Nick Hancock as host
A sports-based spin-off from Have I Got News For You is reportedly in development.
Trade publication Broadcast reports that Have I Got Sport For You will feature "high-profile sporting and comedic talent".
The show is expected to "follow a broadly similar format" to the long-running BBC One panel show featuring Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, which has broadcast over 600 episodes since it started in 1990.
This news follows on from the cancellation of A Question Of Sport, which was axed after 53 years on air.
The BBC has declined to comment on the new format, but it is believed Have I Got Sport For You is being developed by Hat Trick Productions, the company behind the original HIGNFY show.
Hat Trick has previously made an episode of Have I Got Sport For You for Radio 4. Airing for a single episode in 2012, former They Think It's All Over host Nick Hancock (pictured) fronted the show. He was joined by Paul Merton, Andy Hamilton, Mark Steel and Gail Emms in July to look ahead to the London Olympics.
Have I Got Sport For You is expected to launch at the end of the year.
