Man Like Mobeen is set to return for a fifth series, after co-creator and star Guz Khan essentially confirmed the BBC Three sitcom's recommission.

Responding to a question by host Roman Kemp on The One Show this evening about the series ending on a cliffhanger earlier this year, with the incarcerated Mobeen (Khan) stabbed and his younger sister Aks (Duaa Karim) falling into the clutches of the villainous Uncle Khan (Art Malik), the comic was initially coy about possible future episodes.

"Listen bro, I've been told many times in life don't say things that you're not supposed to say, you'll get in trouble with the BBC etc, etc" Khan said.

He then immediately added: "But we'll probably do one more! I'm sorry! We'll probably do another one!"

Kemp sought clarification, asking: "Is that an exclusive? Can we take that?"

"You can" responded Khan, who co-writes the Bafta-nominated series with Andy Milligan (The Sunday Night Project).

Also starring Tolulope Ogunmefun, Youssef Kerkour and stand-ups Mark Silcox and Tez Ilyas, until the latter's character Eight was murdered, Man Like Mobeen is made by Tiger Aspect and began in 2017, following a pilot the previous year.

Khan also appears in the third series of Dave's outdoor challenge show Outsiders from next Wednesday, alongside Alan Davies, Roisin Conaty, Judi Love, Chris McCausland and Laura Smyth and recently shot the forthcoming rom-com film How To Date Billy Walsh, appearing alongside Tim Downie, Lucy Punch, Nick Frost and Jocelyn Jee Esien.

His stand-up tour, Guz Khan Live, resumes on January 5th at the Beck Theatre in Hayes.
