Amazon drops Ten Percent
- Prime Video's Ten Percent won't come back for a second series
- The comedy has succumbed to various pressures at the streaming service
- It was an adaptation of French sitcom Dix Pour Cent
Ten Percent has been dropped after one series.
Adapted from a hit French sitcom of the same name about the staff and clients of a high-end celebrity talent agency, eight episodes debuted on Amazon's streaming service Prime Video in spring 2022.
Despite reported success and a star-studded cast of regular and guest actors, it has now emerged that no second series will be forthcoming.
US-based trade publications are reporting that the comedy is a casualty of a global collapse in streaming platforms' value and profitability; the departure from Amazon of its original commissioner; and the collapse of one of the production companies involved, Bron Studios.
The French original - promoted in English-language territories under the title Call My Agent! - has run for four series to date. Ten Percent starred Jack Davenport, Lydia Leonard and Maggie Steed, and lead-written, directed and executive produced by John Morton (People Like Us, W1A).
