Just Stop Oil invade The Last Leg
Protestors from the 'Just Stop Oil' campaign group interrupted The Last Leg tonight.
Just minutes into the programme, which is broadcast live, presenter Adam Hills was interrupted as a trio rushed in front of the cameras and approached the comic hosts.
Hills was forced to repeatedly proclaim to viewers - as well as co-hosts Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker - that "this is not part of the show".
One of the protestors, an elderly man, approached Hills directly, hugged him and introduced himself as William, before being taken away.
Meanwhile, a young woman presented Hills and his co-hosts with bright orange 'Just Stop Oil' bibs, and a younger man threw confetti around the stage. Hills started to put on the bib he had been given before being instructed to stop by producers.
Security guards and production crew quickly removed the three protestors from the studio with no apparent fuss or resistance. Hills, Widdicombe and Brooker continued to joke about the incident throughout the remainder of the programme, which quickly returned to its planned topics of discussion.
Other members of the controversial group had earlier interrupted the opening night of the 2023 BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
