Alien invasion comedy We Are Not Alone will not return to Dave for further episodes.

Written by Ghosts stars Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, We Are Not Alone debuted as a two-hour special in November 2022. The special was subsequently re-cut into three episodes for repeat runs.

In October, BCG confirmed the special was deemed by the co-creators as a trial episode for a prospective series, with Willbond saying: "It's a feature-length pilot. We're keeping our fingers crossed that [Dave] commission a series."

However, it's now been confirmed the channel has no plans to order more episodes from producers Big Talk.

A UKTV spokesperson told TV Zone: "We Are Not Alone was an exciting escapade from the incredible minds of Ben Willbond and Larry Rickard. We have no current plans to take it to series, but we would like to thank Big Talk, Ben, Larry and the amazing cast for giving us such a memorable feature and we look forward to working with them again in the future."

The comedy starred Declan Baxter as a human who is forced to become an envoy for alien invaders (played by Joe Thomas, Vicki Pepperdine and Mike Wozniak). The episode also starred Georgia May Foote, Bruce Mackinnon and Amanda Abbington.

The show is currently nominated for Best Comedy Programme in the Broadcast Digital Awards, with the results set to be announced on 5th July.

We Are Not Alone available on Roku in the US, and is still available to stream via UK Play
