The Tuckers ends after three series
- Welsh sitcom The Tuckers has not been commissioned for a fourth series
- Creator Steve Speirs thanked viewers for following the stories of his characters living in the south Wales valleys
- A BBC spokesperson confirmed: "After three series we bid the characters farewell"
The Tuckers, the Welsh sitcom created by Steve Speirs, has ended after three series.
Spiers has posted on Twitter: "For all those asking about the next series of TUCKERS...Sadly, Its not been recommissioned. To everyone who followed the lives of Peggy, Billy,Bobby, Nats, Shaks, Lush, Clock , Dawn and Melvyn... THANK YOU ( I'm sure Glyn and Murphy are still arguing down that bog as I type)xx"
Launched in 2018 as a pilot, before becoming a series in 2020, the comedy told the story of "a family of chancers, low on cash but high on spirit" living in the south Wales valleys.
Starring alongside Spiers was actors including Robert Pugh, Lynn Hunter, Joshua McCord, Ben McGregor, Alexandria Riley, Hope Reynolds and Jams Thomas.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We'd like to thank the series' creator, writer and actor Steve Speirs for bringing the Tuckers to life as well as the incredible all-Welsh cast who brought the close-knit family of loveable rogues to our screens. After three series we bid the characters farewell and look forward to announcing some brand-new comedy series soon."
