Focusing on 20-something best friends and flatmates Charlie and Becca, the comedy was released at the end of September 2022 on the broadcaster's streaming service, All 4.
Launched as part of a trial that saw the whole series debut online a fortnight before the first episodes aired on television in mid-Octber, the six programmes followed the duo's adventures in work, relationships and their regularly strained friendship.
Channel 4 and co-production company Big Talk confirmed simply: "There are currently no plans for a second series."
Series 1 saw the pair try dating older men for a taste of sophistication; struggle with their very demanding respective employers; celebrate birthdays; and deal with an unexpected death.
It was written and produced by Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Popper and directed by Damon Beesley (The Inbetweeners). Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education starred as Charlotte 'Charlie' Phillips, with newcomer Melissa Saint playing Rebecca 'Becca' Douglas.
The news follows on from the broadcaster's commissioning of another comedy centring female 20-something friendship, Big Mood.
All six episodes of I Hate You are currently available to watch on All 4, with the series' trailer below.
