Seann Walsh is piloting a sitcom in which he plays a therapist.
Miles Jupp, Kate Robbins, Rosie Holt, Marek Larwood and Tom Little are set to co-star in Rowan, which the comedian has co-written with Jupp's regular collaborator James Kettle.
Based upon his own experiences of therapy in the wake of the tabloid furore surrounding his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, Walsh has announced a live read-through of the script at the Bill Murray comedy club in London on 22nd February, via his Instagram account.
"This is something I've been working on for many years," he wrote. "I've always always wanted to do my own sitcom. Finally it's happening!! Christ this has been a long road!
"I'm so exited [sic] about this!! I have the best cast! Absolutely buzzing."
British Comedy Guide understands that Rowan was originally set to be an audio comedy but recording was cancelled because of coronavirus, and that Walsh also intends to produce the sitcom if it makes it to filming.
He is seeking to self-produce more of his own projects after releasing his last two stand-up specials on YouTube.
Last year BCG revealed that he was piloting a sitcom with Harry Enfield and Kevin Bishop, Man Cave, which the trio were developing with Spirit Studios and aiming at ITV.
