- Having established himself as a pundit, the ex-Man City defender is becoming a familiar face on television
Micah Richards is making a sport-based hidden camera prank show for Sky, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.
The former England international footballer is fronting Micah Richards' Player Pranks for Sky Max.
The news comes a fortnight after it was announced that the ex-Manchester City defender-turned-pundit will be a regular panellist on the 18th series of Sky's A League Of Their Own, appearing alongside host Romesh Ranganathan, regular captain Jamie Redknapp and a rotating cast of guest captains.
Richards has a reputation as a prankster after video of him feigning an injury after shooting an advert, convincing Manchester City's photographer and marketing manager that he'd pulled a hamstring, went viral in 2013:
More recently however, he was the victim of a set-up himself:
Player Pranks is made by Zig Zag Productions (Comedy From Merton To Enfield), who specialise in sport-based programming and hidden camera content.
Richards also features in Zig Zag's forthcoming CBBC documentary Football Academy, alongside Mo Salah, Alan Shearer, James Ward-Prowse, Nathan Redmond and Kyle Walker-Peters, in the series following young players and staff at Southampton FC's academy.
Airing in the autumn in the run up to the World Cup in Qatar, the series is narrated by comedian Alan Carr, the son of former Northampton Town FC manager and scout Graham Carr.
A Sky Sports film about racist abuse in football, Micah Richards: Tackling Racism, also won sports documentary of the year in the "up to 60 minutes category" in last year's Broadcast Awards.
