Him & Her gets third series
Him & Her, the grimy BBC Three sitcom about a young and in-love couple who live in a squalid bedsit and have no desire to seek employment, has been commissioned for a third series.
The real-time comedy, written by Stefan Golaszewski, offers a "warts-and-all look at what really goes on behind the bedroom doors of today's 20-somethings".
The show stars Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani as the central couple, Steve and Becky, with Kerry Howard as Becky's sister Laura, Ricky Champ as Laura's tough boyfriend Paul, and Joe Wilkinson as creepy neighbour Dan.
All are due to return for the new six-part series from Big Talk Productions, which will be filmed and broadcast in 2012.
The second series of Him & Her is currently broadcasting on Tuesday nights, but channel bosses - notably controller Zai Bennett - are so pleased with the show's performance that it has been recommissioned with 2 episodes left in the run.
When Him & Her launched in September 2010 it became the highest rating sitcom debut on BBC Three, with an impressive 2.1 million watching across the week. The show has maintained low but steady audience figures since (averaging just 600,000 viewers this series), but performs well on the corporation's iPlayer catch-up service.
