- Jimmy Akingbola is back to host a third series of Sorry, I Didn't Know on ITV
- Chizzy Akudolu is also returning as a team captain on the panel show about black history
- Recording of five new episodes will take place in London next month
Sorry, I Didn't Know is returning to ITV for a third series, British Comedy guide can exclusively reveal.
Jimmy Akingbola is also back to host five more episodes of the panel show about black history, which airs on ITV.
That's despite him landing the high profile role of British butler Geoffrey in Bel-Air, the dramatic reimagining of US sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
Akingbola left his role as immigrant doctor Koji in the ITV sitcom Kate & Koji after the first series because of his US filming commitments, being replaced in the part by Okorie Chukwu.
Campus star Chizzy Akudolu is also coming back to Sorry, I Didn't Know as a team captain. However, it has not been confirmed if stand-up and Loose Women panellist Judi Love will return as her counterpart.
Upcoming guests on the show include Fully Blown star and presenter Verona Rose, The Chase's Shaun Wallace and comedians Russell Kane and White Yardie.
Sorry, I Didn't Know was created by husband and wife team Fraser Ayres and Minnie Ayres, via their production company TriForce Productions, with the second series airing last year.
In an October 2020 interview with BCG Pro they spoke about the importance of having diverse stars and crews on TV shows, and how TriForce Productions is "working with over 40 production companies and organisations to help them hire more inclusively."
Recording at Riverside Studios in London on June 12th to 14th, tickets for the third series are available via Eventbrite
