Harry Enfield and Seann Walsh are piloting a sitcom about a bunch of misfits who gather in a neighbour's man cave, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

Kevin Bishop, who stars with the pair, has written Man Cave about the titular "safe space". The cast also features Daisy Beaumont (A Touch of Cloth) and children's television presenter Dave Benson Phillips.

Made by Spirit Studios (The Stand Up Sketch Show, Comedy Against Living Miserably), Man Cave originally began life as a short film BCG understands, but is now being developed for television, with ITV2 believed to be its hoped for destination.

Matt Campion, founder and creative director of Spirit Studios, shared images during filming in Worthing, Sussex in November:

Walsh and Star Stories star Bishop are also part of the supporting cast for Enfield and Paul Whitehouse's upcoming BBC Two sketch show, The Love Box In Your Living Room, a tongue-in-cheek celebration of the BBC for the corporation's centenary, which also features Rosie Cavaliero and Alan Partridge's Simon Greenall.

Walsh posted a picture of himself and Bishop on The Love Box set in period costume:

Earlier this month, Walsh and Bishop also shot The Bystanders, about invisible immortals who interfere in others' lives. Written and directed by Gabriel Foster Prior, the comedy film also features comedians Nick Helm, Marek Larwood, David Schaal and Lauren Douglin, plus former Page 3 girl Lucy Pinder.

Bishop and Enfield previously appeared together in a 2016 stage production of the Hollywood satire Once In A Lifetime, with the former heaping praise on the older comic, saying that Enfield "kindly tolerated my incessant impersonations and quotes of his material over the last thirty years.

"He is a gentleman, a genius and very kind person. Making people laugh is always a risk and that's why we should be grateful to those who are good at making us laugh."
