Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith's hit BBC comedy anthology series Inside No. 9 is set to be remade for American audiences.
It's been confirmed that streaming platform Amazon Freevee - the recently rebranded IMDb TV - is working on a new version of the scripts for the USA.
Deadline reports: "The project, which is in the development stages, comes from Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions, which have a deal together and are behind breakout CBS comedy Ghosts, which is also based on a BBC format."
It has not yet been announced who will star in the new version, but the UK creators are not expected to take the lead roles. Pemberton and Shearsmith are, however, amongst the executive producers on the project.
Alongside the announcement, Pemberton posted on Twitter to his followers: "Let the fantasy re-casting begin!"
Angie Stephenson from Amazon Freevee comments: "We want to do inventive, noisy interesting television and that show is one of one. We hope we can make a version that is worthy of the legacy."
Series 7 of the UK version of Inside No. 9 is currently airing on Wednesday nights on BBC Two. There is no episode this week due to a sports broadcast. Episode 3 (pictured) - titled Nine Lives Kat - will air on 11th May.
