The cast has been revealed for Series 6 of Inside No. 9, which has now completed filming.
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith's anthology of darkly comic tales is due to return to BBC Two for six more episodes later in 2021.
It's been revealed today that the cast for series 6 will include Fleabag star Sian Clifford; Adrian Dunbar, who is best known for playing Ted Hastings in Line Of Duty; and Peep Show's Paterson Joseph.
The cast list will also include Lindsay Duncan (About Time), Kevin Bishop (Star Stories), Nick Mohammed (Intelligence), Bhavna Limbachia (Citizen Khan), Sarah Parish (W1A) and Gemma Whelan (Upstart Crow), with more names set to be confirmed in due course.
Series 6 will see Sir Derek Jacobi becomes the first actor to return to Inside No. 9. He previously provided the voice of Dennis Fulcher in the critically acclaimed Series 3 episode The Devil of Christmas.
No details about the plots of the new episodes have yet been revealed, however the first look photo released today shows Shearsmith in a police uniform and Pemberton playing a character with a large moustache, standing by what appears to be farmland.
Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton say: "We started filming in March last year but had to hit pause due to the pandemic. After a nine-month gestation it's a relief to finally deliver our 6th series to the world. As proud parents we couldn't possibly choose a favourite, but like any youngest sibling this series is cheeky, funny - and can get away with murder..."
Commissioner Shane Allen comments: "Reece and Steve plough yet more fertile genre bending ground as their relentless powers of invention grip, dazzle and amuse in surprising new ways. Their writing draws the cream of British comedy talent to these modern master-pieces"
Josh Cole from BBC Studios adds: "We're delighted to have concluded filming the sixth season of Inside No. 9. It's a unique series we could not be prouder of, and we are in awe of Reece and Steve's extraordinary ability to continually raise the bar. Long live Inside No. 9!"
The BBC says it'll confirm broadcast details for Series 6 later in the year.
The creators have already started working on Series 7 of Inside No. 9 for 2022, which was commissioned at the same time as Series 6. The first five award-winning series are available in full on BBC iPlayer
