Frankie Boyle working on new series for Channel 4
Channel 4 is working with Frankie Boyle to develop a new topical comedy series, Broadcast report.
Following months of rumour, the corporation has now confirmed to trade magazine Broadcast that it is talking to the Scottish comedian with a view to creating a brand new series for him.
The comic was last seen on Channel 4 in December 2010, when his sketch show Frankie Boyle's Tramadol Nights attracted much controversy and many column inches from fans and critics alike, particularly in relation to a joke which referred to the disabled son of glamour model turned TV personality Katie Price (aka Jordan).
A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: "Tramadol Nights was a creative one-off series for Frankie Boyle. C4 and Frankie are working together on a new comedy vehicle with a topical focus. Hopefully a new pilot will record later in the year but it is still very much a work in progress."
The new show is in early development stages and details are scarce, but it is expected to be recorded in front of a studio audience. It is believed it will not be produced by The Comedy Unit, the Glasgow production company behind Tramadol Nights.
The following trailer was produced for Tramadol Nights. The entire series is currently available to watch on 4oD.
