  • The star says: "I feel that there's enough funny stuff in the Fun Capsule to avoid an alien invasion"

Harry Hill has said his ITV panel show Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule has ended after three series.

Referring to the premise of the show, which is to 'locate' funny video clips and other amusing items, the comedian commented: "After three fantastic series I feel that there's enough funny stuff in the Fun Capsule to avoid an alien invasion, without having to make anymore shows for the time being. Mission accomplished!"

ITV confirmed the news in The Sun newspaper, with a spokesperson saying: "We'd like to thank Harry Hill for three brilliant series of Alien Fun Capsule. There are currently no plans for a further series."

The show launched in 2017, with some commentators noting it was a format that allowed Hill to showcase funny clips similar to those on his previous hit show Harry Hill's TV Burp, but - thanks to the inclusion of guests - without so much labour-intensive research required. Hill decided to end TV Burp due to the hours involved.

Series 3 of Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule - which featured guests including Les Dennis, Charlie Dimmock, Pam St Clement and The Krankies - aired between June and July last year.

Since then, Hill has launched Harry Hill's ClubNite on Channel 4. It has yet to be confirmed if the new act showcase will return for a second series.
