- Whitehall says: "I was so honoured Graham asked me to do this for him"
Jack Whitehall is to guest host The Graham Norton Show on Friday 17th May.
The comedian is taking over the chat show for one night only, as Graham Norton himself has to be in Tel Aviv to prepare for presenting the BBC's coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final on Saturday 18th May.
This will be the first time in Norton's 20 years as a talk show host that he has missed a show.
Whitehall, talking about taking on the high-profile presenting gig, says: "I was so honoured Graham asked me to do this for him. The thought of stepping into his huge showbiz boots fills me in equal measure with fear and excitement. Worst case, I will make everyone appreciate just how lucky we are to have him."
Norton adds: "I'm thrilled to know that I am leaving the show in Jack's capable hands. He is bound to do an amazing job. I should warn him not to get too comfortable in my chair though, because like a slightly fey terminator, I'll be back!!"
The guests set to appear on the week that Whitehall will host will include Luke Evans, Paloma Faith and Gwendoline Christie.
Graham Norton's big break came when Jack Docherty asked him to guest present his Channel 5 chat show.
Whitehall has just announced a series of work-in-progress gigs in London, ahead of his Stood Up UK and Ireland tour. Ticketmaster
