Channel 4 has revealed that Ardal O'Hanlon is to guest star in the second series of Derry Girls.
The Father Ted star will make a special guest appearance as Eamonn; the awkward, middle-aged mummy's boy of the Quinn/McCool extended family.
O'Hanlon has worked with Derry Girls writer Lisa McGee before, having starred as Da in her previous sitcom, London Irish.
The second series of Derry Girls is due to start in March. Channel 4 says: "Fans will have to wait and see what shenanigans the gang get up to, but rest assured, Erin Quinn, her cousin Orla McCool and friends Clare Devlin, Michelle Mallon and Michelle's tag along English cousin, aka The Wee English Fella, James Maguire will be back, navigating their teens in 1990's Derry in their hilarious, unique, yet all too familiar fashion."
