Channel Dave orders pizza delivery sitcom Sliced
- Sliced, a sitcom about two pizza delivery drivers, is coming to channel Dave in 2019
- The series is described as a "passion project" for co-writer and star Samson Kayo
- Kayo plays a character called Joshua, with Theo Barklem-Biggs from Crims as Ricky
Dave has ordered Sliced, a new sitcom about two pizza delivery drivers working in South London.
The three-part series is co-written by and stars Timewasters and Famalam actor Samson Kayo (pictured). He plays Joshua, with Theo Barklem-Biggs, who has appeared in shows such as Ballot Monkeys and Crims, as Ricky.
UKTV explains: "Sliced focuses on Joshua and Ricky, two mates who just want to make some money, move out of their mums' and meet some women - is that too much to ask for? If only all the ridiculous stuff that keeps happening to them would stop getting in the way."
Kayo has written the show alongside PhoneShop creator Phil Bowker, with Bad Education director Al Campbell signed up to oversee the shoot.
Samson Kayo says: "We've got great scripts and an amazing cast and we're really looking forward to making you fart with laughter. If we don't make you fartlaugh then as far as I'm concerned, we haven't done our job properly."
Pete Thornton from UKTV comments: "Announcing a new scripted comedy series for Dave is always properly exciting and this is no exception. Samson Kayo is without doubt destined to be a huge star and Sliced is his passion project, so I'm absolutely delighted that he's chosen to make it for UKTV - we look forward to welcoming him into the family along with his co-writer, the legendary Phil Bowker. It's a beautifully crafted, highly authentic and genuinely diverse project set in a blue-collar world that we can't wait to introduce to our audiences."
Luke Hales, Dave channel director, said, "We're really thrilled to bring Sliced to Dave viewers. It's a fresh and authentic slice of British life through the lens of some of the UK's top young comedy talent."
Phil Bowker, who is making the show through his production company, Lovely Electricity, says: "Samson is a rare talent and the fact that we've got the opportunity to work together with Dave to realise this series is not only brilliant but sends out a really strong message to the comedy world that UKTV is the place to be for the freshest, newest and finest comedy around."
