Sky is to pilot a new comedy format called Comedians Watching Football With Friends.
The Gogglebox-style format will, as its title suggests, focus on comedians watching football games. However, unlike Gogglebox the show will be recorded in a TV studio with an audience.
Joe Wilkinson, Iain Stirling and Matt Forde are amongst those set to be involved in the pilot recordings, alongside Frank Skinner's Absolute Radio presenting partner, Emily Dean.
The show is being made by Avalon, the production company which is also behind shows such as The Russell Howard Hour.
Advertising free tickets to be in the audience, the producers say: "If you're a fan of football and comedy, then join us on Sunday 11th November when we'll be watching two of the weekend's biggest Premier League matches in the company of football-loving comedians and their celebrity friends.
"Comedians including Joe Wilkinson, Iain Stirling, Matt Forde and Emily Dean will be providing a hilarious alternative commentary as they watch each match, and we'd like to invite you to be in the audience for this unique 'watchalong' event - especially if you're a fan of one of the teams in action. If possible, please wear your team's shirt or team colours with pride!"
The not-for-broadcast pilots will focus on the lunchtime game of Chelsea versus Everton, and the afternoon local derby between Manchester City and Manchester United. Free tickets
The pilot recordings are not intended for broadcast, but will be used by Sky to decide whether to order a series.
