ITV orders another series of Odd One In
ITV has announced today that it's ordered a second series of Odd One In, the Saturday night panel show format starring Bradley Walsh, Peter Andre and Jason Manford.
The show, which made its debut on ITV1 in July 2010 and ran for 8 weeks, involves two teams going head-to-head in an attempt to spot the real person from a line-up of pretenders. For example, rounds in the first series included 'Who Has The Fake Beard?', 'Who Is The Real Hypnotist?' and 'Who Is The Real Nun?'. Regulars Jason Manford and Peter Andre work together as one team playing against a guest team, with Bradley Walsh as the host.
Odd One In is made by Zeppotron, the company behind 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You?. The show grew its audience from about 2 million viewers, to 4 million by the end of its summer run, and was repeated recently on Thursday nights.
ITV's commissioner of entertainment Kate Maddigan said: "We're thrilled to have Bradley, Peter and Jason back for a new series of Odd One In. This simple format proved a hit with the viewers and this series guarantees to have even more outlandish line-ups which I'm sure will provide lots of laugh-out-loud moments with our viewers."
News of this commission suggests Jason Manford, who quit The One Show last year due tabloid stories about his personal life, is moving towards becoming a regular face on the ITV network. At the start of this year, Manford hosted the well-received ITV1 stand-up and music show Comedy Rocks - which is expected to be given the greenlight for a second series too.
The new series of Odd One In will be recorded and broadcast later this year.
