A new television channel, YANGA!, has launched today on Sky channel 293.
Aimed at the African diaspora in Britain, its name means 'self-pride' (in West African pidgin), and is "an enthusiastic, positive, form of self-expression".
Amongst its programming, the channel has produced an original comedy series, Number 6, including stand-up filmed at London's Top Secret Comedy Club.
"Online sensation" Mansour Bellow hosts the new series, having made his name on his YouTube channel Afrobeat360. As well as stand-up from comedians including Funmbi Omotayo, the show also sees Belllow "on the street, behind the scenes and access all areas bringing you pranks, jokes and 'no holds barred' interviews".
The weekly comedy series will debut at 9pm on Friday nights from this week, 9th March 2018, with repeats scheduled on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
A preview video for Number 6 is below. More information about the channel can be found on YANGA!'s official website.
