Alan Carr is being lined up to present a tribute to Les Dawson.
According to reports, the celebrated comic's daughter, Charlotte, has asked Carr to front a new TV special marking 25 years since her father's death.
The stand-up, sketch star and pianist died of a sudden heart attack on 10th June 1993, aged 62. He was waiting at a local hospital in Manchester for the results of a routine check-up at the time. Charlotte was just 8 months old.
She says: "It's my dad's 25th anniversary this year so we're doing a show with Alan Carr. We're in talks at the moment and hoping to get lots of people involved. Alan really looked up to my dad and he's a good friend of mine. It's really exciting."
Charlotte Dawson is a make up artist, model and television personality who has appeared in reality show Ex On The Beach and a number of documentaries about her father. No channel is yet attached to the project.
An industry source, commenting on the story in The Daily Mirror, said: "If Les's family and friends were involved and Alan was fronting it, all the channels would be interested."
