Comedy Central has ordered a second series of Joel & Nish Vs The World.

The comedic factual series launched on the channel in September. The format sees stand-up comedians Joel Dommett and Nish Kumar visiting various countries to meet the "strongest, fittest, and toughest people in the world."

The first series proved a programming hit for the channel, with the show a "massive" 43% up on the ratings slot average, with a peak audience of 111,000 in the advertising-desirable 16 to 34 age bracket.

Talking about the six-part second series, the channel says: "The 'brains and brawn' comedy duo continue their adventure of a lifetime as they travel the globe to test the power of their prowess against some of the harshest lifestyles around the world, finding new ways to embarrass themselves on an international scale.

"Building on the first series, where Joel faced some of the strongest, fittest and toughest people in the world with Nish providing hilarious commentary, this time around Nish will be getting more involved in the action and taking on the challenges with Joel to find out which one of them really is the toughest."

Joel Dommett says of the show returning: "I cannot believe we've managed to renew our travel insurance to do another series of Joel & Nish Vs The World. I can't wait to head to some of the most incredible corners of the globe, get diarrhoea at least 3 times and be pushed to my limits while my best friend laughs at me. BRING IT ON."

Nish Kumar comments: "I can't wait for Joel and I to make complete fools of ourselves in some of the most incredible places on earth. Truly we are dreadful ambassadors for this country."

Louise Holmes from Comedy Central says: "We can't wait to get Joel and Nish's next series of adventures and madcap mishaps on Comedy Central. This time round, we're pushing them even further out of their comfortable metro lifestyles into the wildest, most challenging places the crew can find - our audience should prepare for a whole lot more laughter as we test their friendship - and sense of humour - to the limits."

Emily Hudd from production company Rumpus Media adds: "We're so excited that Joel and Nish aren't done with taking on the world yet despite them knowing the odds are probably against them. We can't wait to pit them both against some more of the world's toughest communities in Series 2."

The second series will be filmed and broadcast later in 2018.
