Your Face Or Mine returns to Comedy Central for two more series
- Your Face Or Mine is to return to Comedy Central for a third and fourth series
- Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan will host again, as couples are asked to grade their own looks
- Series 3 will be recorded in front of studio audiences from February, to be shown on TV in March
Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan are set to film two more series of Your Face Or Mine, the TV comedy show in which couples must judge their own attractiveness.
Filming on the new batch of episodes is due to start in February, with Series 3 expected to be shown on Comedy Central from March. A fourth series will be shown at a later date.
In total, 22 more episodes will be recorded.
Producers confirm: "The smash hit game show, Your Face Or Mine, is back to put more relationships to the test once again. It's the cult-classic, couples-based comedy format in which your face can win you cash. Hosted by Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan, couples are forced to compare their looks with other people's - and ultimately with each other's - over a series of revelation-filled rounds."
The channel adds: "In addition to the audiences' favourite rounds, the two new series will also feature brand new rounds designed to ramp up the awkwardness even more. The new series will not only see more members of the public face Jimmy and Katherine's relationship-testing game but there will be even more celebrity couples putting their love on the line for a chance to win money for their chosen charity."
Comedy Central aired the first series of the format from May last year, with the second - which had been commissioned and filmed at the same time - starting in October. The channel has labelled the series a "huge success", with over 3.7m individuals calculated as having seen an episode.
Katherine Ryan comments: "Jimmy and I are back and we're fully committed to improving the lives of couples by handing them cash (and trying to break them up!). Some will tell the truth and risk being dumped and others will lie to save their relationship but either way we're in for more awkward encounters this series".
When it was launched, the format was described as a "Tinder-inspired" reboot of the E4 show that Carr hosted with June Sarpong in 2002 and 2003.
Speaking at the time of the first series, Jimmy Carr said: "I'm delighted to be bringing back Your Face Or Mine to Comedy Central. In an age when people are forever judging individuals on how they look, placing attractiveness on a pedestal above intelligence, and forcing others to fit societal norms of beauty, why not make them do all of those things, to their loved ones, on national television and for money?"
Carr and Ryan formed a presenting partnership on Your Face Or Mine that is now being extended to other Comedy Central shows. The duo are this week appearing alongside Russell Brand as judges on the channel's latest format, Roast Battle.
The new episodes of Your Face Or Mine will be recorded at The London Studios from February (tickets). Couples can apply to take part in the show by emailing [email protected]
