Miranda Hart is to host a one-off festive show on Channel 4.
Miranda Does Christmas will see the sitcom star hosting "a raucous Christmas party with some very special guests" and offering viewers "some tips for surviving the festive period."
Producers confirm: "Miranda Hart is taking over Channel 4 with a one-off Christmas party, celebrating all that is amazing (and not so amazing) about Christmas. Expect celebrity guests, festive surprises and a definitive answer on whether or not nuts belong in a Christmas Pudding."
The episode will be recorded at the London Studios on Saturday 9th December (Tickets), and broadcast close to the 25th December.
Also in Channel 4's Christmas line-up will be Alan Carr fronting a new version of The Price Is Right, plus Christmas and New Year specials of his Chatty Man chat show. Also The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year returns.
It was recently revealed that Hart is also due to host this year's Royal Variety Performance, which will be shown on ITV in December.
Last month, Sally Phillips, who starred in Hart's BBC sitcom as posh friend Tilly, revealed that the cast were all booked to appear in a Miranda film last summer but it didn't happen. Talking about whether the sitcom would return one day, Phillips told Radio Times: "Well, she said 'no', then 'maybe', then there was talk of a film, and we were all booked for that this summer, but it didn't happen."
Phillips added: "I know she doesn't want to feel that she's just going back and doing it for the sake of it, she wants to make sure it's really good. I'd love it if she did it."
