ITV orders Bad Move Series 2
- ITV sitcom Bad Move will return for a second series of six new episodes in 2018
- Jack Dee, Kerry Godliman, Miles Jupp, Manjinder Virk, Seann Walsh, Philip Jackson and Sue Vincent all return
- The recommission follows the success of the first series, watched by more than 4 million viewers
ITV has ordered a second series of Bad Move, its new sitcom starring Jack Dee and Kerry Godliman as a couple who regret moving to the countryside.
Six new episodes have been ordered, to be filmed and broadcast in 2018.
Written by Jack Dee and Pete Sinclair, Bad Move stars Jack Dee as Steve and Kerry Godliman as his wife Nicky: a married couple both on their second marriages who have decided that moving to the countryside from the city is the answer to all their dreams.
Re-joining Dee and Godliman for the second series will be neighbours Matt (Miles Jupp) and Meena (Manjinder Virk); local rock star Grizzo (Seann Walsh); Nicky's father, Ken (Philip Jackson); and Shannon (Sue Vincent) - the local shopkeeper.
The first series recently aired at 8pm on Wednesday nights, and proved to be a ratings success for the channel. The first episode achieved an impressive audience of 4.3 million viewers (rising to 4.9 million including a repeat), with the series averaging over 4 million viewers per episode.
Speaking about returning for another series, Jack Dee says: "I'm naturally delighted that I'll be working again with the brilliant Bad Move cast. The show has clearly struck a chord with a great many viewers and we are very much looking forward to dumping more country life problems on Nicky and Steve in Series 2."
ITV's Comedy Commissioner Saskia Schuster comments: "The charms of country life will no doubt continue to elude Steve and Nicky, as their rural domesticity brings increasing aggravation and tribulation. We'll be seeing a lot more of Steve's unguarded responses to daily small scale irritations, which will of course escalate to become his and Nicky's undoing. Will he never learn?"
Andrew Beint from production company Open Mike Productions adds: "We can't wait to see what happens to Steve and Nicky in Series 2 and are thrilled once again to be working alongside the brilliant writing talents of Jack and Pete and everyone in the ITV comedy team".
