The Fake News Show, a panel show hosted by Stephen Mangan that looks at false headlines, is to return to Channel 4.
The comedy was devised as a one-off programme broadcast as part of Channel 4's Fake News Week in February. However, having attracted more than one million viewers and accumulating a positive audience response, it will now return to television for a series.
Production company Hat Trick - which also makes Have I Got News For You - is currently in the pre-production phase for the next episode, which is due to be recorded on Saturday 13th May at The London Studios (Tickets).
Studio dates have been booked for a further three episodes, on Saturdays 20th and 27th May, and 3rd June.
The producers say the series will, once again, "peer behind the wobbly façade of fake news, dissect the outlandish headlines, wild lies, dodgy Photoshops and all-too-believable viral clips that have pushed post-truth to the front pages. With a veritable feast of some of the sharpest and funniest minds around, this night of hilarity is not to be missed."
The line-up of guests has yet to be announced. The episode broadcast in February featured Richard Ayoade, Richard Osman, Jon Richardson and Katherine Ryan as the panellists.
The programme had some success in spreading its own fake news. Many news outlets picking up on the stories seeded by the programme that Kanye West was going to appear on Pointless and that Katherine Ryan had undergone a botched operation in South America.
