Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule to return
- Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule will return for a second series
- The comedy mixes studio set-pieces with funny clips from TV and the internet
- The show has been a hit with viewers, concluding its debut series tonight
ITV has ordered a second series of comedy format Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule.
Produced by Hill's own company, Nit Television, in conjunction with CPL, the new series will be broadcast next year.
The show finished its first series tonight (Thursday) with an out-takes special episode, having been watched by a weekly average audience of more than 4 million viewers, across both premiere and repeat broadcasts.
The format sees Hill and guests ostensibly collecting evidence that humans are really rather fun, to be showcased in the case of an alien invasion.
Harry Hill said "I'm thrilled to hear it's coming back! It was a lot of fun to make and judging by the fact that no aliens have invaded this year, it's clearly working."
Saskia Schuster, ITV's Comedy Commissioner added "We're really looking forward to finding out what Harry has in store in the next series to save earth from an alien invasion. It can only get sillier."
Mobashir Dar, Executive Producer says: "Harry and the team are over the moon ITV want more Alien Fun Capsule. We've checked his availability, and crucially, it's a thumbs up from Alan the Alien, too!"
Nit TV is also the producer of Harry Hill's Tea Time, a spoof cooking and chat show. The Sky 1 series has already been confirmed to be returning, and is expected on air later this year.
The number of episodes due to comprise Alien Fun Capsule Series 2 has yet to be confirmed, but the series is likely to record this Autumn and Winter.
