Ventriloquist Nina Conti is to host the pilot episode of a new comedy format. Nina Conti's Game Face is described as a "funny game show" by producers.

Advertising a filmed run-through of the format that is due to take place later this month, the producers also promise the show will feature "a special celebrity guest appearance".

Free tickets are available to be in the audience for a non-broadcast pilot. The trial is due to place at RADA Studios in London on Friday 17th March.

No further details have been revealed as yet.

Since winning the BBC New Comedy Award in 2002, Nina Conti has build a career as one of Britain's best known ventriloquists. Her recent TV appearances include Live At The Apollo and The Nightly Show.

This is not the first pilot Conti has fronted. In 2014 she filmed a non-broadcast pilot called Nina Conti's Va-Va-Riety Show, a BBC format described as "a modern take on the traditional variety show".

Further details about Nina Conti's Game Face are expected to be revealed following the filming on Friday 17th.

The title comes perilously close to that of Roisin Conaty's sitcom GameFace, which is currently filming its first series for Channel 4.
