UKTV's W has ordered two more series of John Bishop's interview show.
John Bishop In Conversation With... launched on the channel in September, with guests including James Corden, Steve Coogan and Jo Brand. The show proved to be a hit for the channel, attracting 607,000 viewers; a figure 456% higher than its slot normally gets.
Produced by the comedian's production company Lola Entertainment, the format sees Bishop talking in-depth one-on-one with "some of the biggest names from the world of entertainment, sport and music".
W has now ordered two more series, each comprising of ten hour long episodes.
John Bishop says: "In Conversation With... was an idea I had for a number of years, based on the classic interview shows of the past, where a show would have only one guest. When we pitched the idea to W, they immediately shared the vision. Series 1 was a great success with such a diverse range of guests, so I cannot wait for series two and three to start."
Commissioner Richard Watsham adds: "The first series of John Bishop In Conversation With... was a huge hit and I am delighted to be able to bring it back for another 20 episodes. John is passionate about the show and brings great expertise both on and off screen. I look forward to seeing more fascinating and revealing conversations with a new group of extraordinary individuals."
Steve North, W's general manager, comments: "John Bishop In Conversation With... is the perfect fit for W and gave the viewers an eye-opening insight into the lives of their favourite stars. With John at the helm, a brilliant variety of guests and the success of the first series, it's fantastic that we can continue the journey and welcome a whole host of new guests."
Series 2 is expected to begin on W in March. At the time of writing the guests have yet to be confirmed, but more details will be released nearer the time.
John Bishop is due to tour the UK from October with his new stand-up show Winging It. Tickets
