Harry Hill is developing a new TV format called The Remote Controller.
The comedy will see the public pitching programme ideas to him.
Producers explain: "We all watch TV and think we could do better - and Harry Hill's brand new TV concept The Remote Controller offers you exactly that chance!"
A call has gone out, asking for "fine members of the Great British public to pitch their ideas for a new TV show looking at the best, worst and plain craziest ideas Britain has for the small screen".
It says: "The show will see Harry Hill scour the brains of Britain for ideas to be put in front of his judging panel of industry experts. Whether a new game show, sitcom, talent show, period drama, reality or music show, all ideas are welcome, and those selected have the chance to be featured in The Remote Controller pilot in 2017, pitching their idea to the judges."
Hill is developing the format through his production company Nit TV. Submissions are now open, with a deadline of Tuesday 28th February 2017.
Before submitting an idea, applicants are invited to consider the following questions:
- Who is the idea aimed at?
- For which channel?
- Who would present it?
- What are the prizes?
- What makes it different?
- How much would it cost to make?
The online submission form, and full terms and conditions, can be found at nittelevision.com
2017 looks set to be a busy year for Harry Hill. His new radio sitcom Life Of Egg will be broadcast on Radio 4 tomorrow (Saturday 7th January); he is working on another radio pilot called Spoot!; a second series of his Sky 1 show Harry Hill's Tea Time is in the works; and he is currently filming a new ITV panel show called Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule.
The Remote Controller is currently at the development stage with no broadcaster announced. It may or may not be shown on television.
