Comedians to become agony aunts for UKTV series
- Channel W is launching Celebrity Advice Bureau, a series in which celebrities become agony aunts
- David Baddiel, Ellie Taylor, Matt Richardson and Roisin Conaty are amongst those set to take part
- Ricky Tomlinson, Fay Ripley and other stars are also involved in the three-part series
UKTV channel W is launching a new TV series called Celebrity Advice Bureau, with a number of comedians amongst the list of celebrities set to take part in the show.
Stand-ups David Baddiel, Ellie Taylor (pictured), Matt Richardson and Roisin Conaty have signed up to become agony aunts for the series, as have The Royle Family actor Ricky Tomlinson and Cold Feet's Fay Ripley.
UKTV explains: "It's said that a problem shared is a problem halved. Celebrity Advice Bureau, W's brand new three part UKTV Original series from Voltage TV, will test that theory as a star-studded cast of celebrities are put to work as agony aunts and uncles.
"They'll try and solve problems ranging from the everyday to the downright bizarre. Drawing on their personal experiences of disguising killer hangovers, changing dirty nappies at 3am and seeking revenge on cheating boyfriends the celebrities in the advice bureau will show themselves to be as flawed and as frank as the rest of the viewing public as they weigh-up each dilemma."
Safeword host Rick Edwards, My Dad Wrote A Porno reader Alice Levine, TV presenter Laura Jackson, X Factor judge Louis Walsh, plus Richard Madeley and his daughter Chloe are also signed up to appear in the series.
The producers say: "The advice that the bureau dishes out could be wise, poignant or just plain bonkers. Either way it is guaranteed to be hilarious."
Transmission details for Celebrity Advice Bureau have not yet been announced. It's expected to be shown on TV next year.
