  • The World Cup Of Everything is a panel show in which guests debate a topic of the week
  • John Bishop will oversee the format, which is described as a "funny nostalgia-based panel show"
  • A pilot run-through is being recorded in London later in September

John Bishop is to host a new panel show, The World Cup Of Everything.

The format sees its guests "debate, argue and ultimately choose a winner of the topic of the week".

Described as a "funny nostalgia-based panel show", each episode of The World Cup Of Everything will feature Bishop and five guests debating a particular topic or category, for example: "What's the greatest ever reality TV show? Who is the craziest tabloid celebrity? Which is the most exciting action film of all time?"

Producers explain: "Throughout the UK you'll find groups of friends in heated debate about their favourite things: films, pop stars, adverts, toys - people are passionate about pop culture. The World Cup Of Everything is an exciting new way of looking at nostalgia and archive footage and harnessing the British love of a 'good old row'!"

The format appears to be unrelated to the similarly titled Comedy World Cup, the 2012 panel show hosted by David Tennant.

A run-through in front of a live audience has been organised for Tuesday 20th September at the MC Motors venue in Dalston, London. Tickets

It is not yet known which channel the show is being developed for but further details are expected to be revealed in due course.

John Bishop is currently hosting John Bishop In Conversation With... on channel W, a show in which he talks in-depth to other comedians and celebrities.
