Sky 1 has ordered three more series of sports-based panel show A League Of Their Own, and another series of A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip.
The show's regular panellists - Jack Whitehall, Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff - are to fly out to meet host James Corden in America again this autumn to film the new location-based specials.
The spin-off format sees Whitehall, Redknapp and Flintoff join the now US-based Corden to compete in a series of experiences and challenges around the States.
The format is returning due to the ratings success of the first run, which aired in May. Producers confirm: "Smash hit show A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip returns to Sky 1 following the blockbuster success of its debut, which saw it become the highest rating series of A League Of Their Own with 1.39m viewers tuning in."
The new series will be filmed this Autumn. Producers say: "The new series once again sees James Corden invite his pals Jack Whitehall, Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff to America to get back on the road for another adventure they'll never forget. James will take the boys across the States as he sets them challenges in locations including New York and Miami as well as returning to his adopted home-town of Los Angeles.
"The second series of A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip will combine stunning locations and exhilarating challenges with an insider's look all the hilarious antics the boys get up to en route. It will also provide a chance for fans to see the gang they know and love in further unique situations outside of the studio."
Sky has also confirmed today it has committed to a further three series of the original panel show. The network says: "The show which invented the 'Mobot', 'tattooed' One Direction's Niall Horan and smashed multiple Guinness World Records is firmly established amongst the elite with its unique blend of sports, comedy and entertainment."
Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky 1, comments: "A League Of Their Own is totally on fire at the moment and James, Freddie, Jamie and Jack are on such brilliant form. Ratings and critical response for the studio shows have never been better and the awesome Road Trip specials have broken all records. I can't wait to see what James puts the guys through in the second Road Trip outing and I'm so so pleased to have secured another three years of the genre-defining studio show for our Sky customers."
Executive Producer Murray Boland adds: "We can't wait to get back on the road with A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip, the most successful series of ALOTO ever. It's also great to be returning with a further three series of A League Of Their Own, which just keeps getting bigger and better."
Series 11 of A League Of Their Own will be shown on Sky 1 this Autumn.
