Channel 4 comedy series The Windsors to return for Series 2

The Windsors, Channel 4's spoof comedy soap opera featuring fictionalised versions of the Royal Family is to return for a second series.
In a spoof press release, the channel said: "Clarence House has today confirmed that The Windsors have once again agreed to appear in a frank and candid fly on the wall documentary series celebrating their off duty roles away from the public eye..."
The network has ordered six more episodes, which will be broadcast in 2017.
Series 1 of the show, which is due to finish on television tonight (Friday 3rd June), has focused on stories including Camilla Parker-Bowles becoming pregnant, Beatrice and Eugenie being radicalised, Pippa and Harry falling in love, Wills calling a referendum to abolish the monarchy, and Kate contracting Ebola.
Harry Enfield (Prince Charles), Haydn Gwynne (Camilla), Morgana Robinson (Pippa), Louise Ford (Kate), Hugh Skinner (Wills), Richard Goulding (Harry), Katy Wix (Fergie), Ellie White (Beatrice), Celeste Dring (Eugenie), Tim Wallers (Prince Andrew) and Matthew Cottle (Prince Edward) are all expected to return for Series 2.
Written by the co-creators of Star Stories, Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie, the first episode of The Windsors became the highest rating comedy series launch on Channel 4 since 2012, with 2.2 million viewers tuning in. The series is still performing well, with consolidated ratings figures suggesting it has 1.6 million viewers per episode.
Channel 4's Phil Clarke says "We're a nation who appears to enjoy poking fun at the institution of the monarchy almost as much as we enjoy staring at a hospital door waiting for a royal baby to be born and I am delighted to welcome The Windsors back to Channel 4 comedy for second series."
