Broadcast Awards 2016 comedy nominees revealed

The nominees for the The Broadcast Awards 2016 have been announced, with a number of comedy shows in contention for prizes.

The Broadcast Awards, which are run by the TV trade magazine Broadcast, have been running for a number of years and are considered a prestigious prize for a programme maker to win because the results are determined by jury consisting of top industry figures.

Elsewhere in the nomination lists, Horrible Histories and So Awkward are up for Best Children's Programme; Detectorists and Plebs are in the running for Best Multichannel Programme and Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror and Lenny Henry's Danny And The Human Zoo are in the running for Best Single Drama.
