ITV order Series 2 of Play To The Whistle
ITV's sports-based panel show Play To The Whistle will return for a second series.
BroadcastNow reports that the format will return next spring for six more episodes.
Play To The Whistle launched in April, and - following on from the Britain's Got Talent slot on Saturday night - achieved an average consolidated audience of 2.9 million viewers.
Host Holly Willoughby, team captains Bradley Walsh and Frank Lampard and regular panellist Romesh Ranganathan are all expected to return for the second series.
Holly Willoughby says: "We're going to be ramping up the rivalry between Bradley and Frank so I'll have my whistle at the ready."
Dan Baldwin from producers Hungry Bear Media, speaking to Broadcast about the recommission, said: "We felt as though Series 1 improved with every show. The on-screen talent have become great friends, they love ribbing each other and spending time together - in my experience this chemistry makes for top quality television. We can't wait to get started."
