Episodes to return for Series 5

Episodes is to return for a fifth series, it has been confirmed.

A Hat Trick production for Showtime in the US and BBC Two, the series stars Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan as the star and husband-and-wife writing team of a hit British sitcom being remade in America.

Showtime today confirmed that it has ordered a fifth run of the hit comedy. The BBC has yet to make any announcement regarding its position on the series, but it is expected to have again co-commissioned the series.

Series 4 was broadcast in the US earlier this year and is currently mid-way through its run on BBC Two, attracting around 850,000 viewers to each episode.

American media has speculated in the past that a fifth series of Episodes would see the finale of the sitcom, but its demise was not mentioned by Showtime in their announcement of the recommission.

As with Series 4, Episodes Series 5 will consist of nine episodes. Filming will begin in Spring 2016, expected to be again split between British studios and on location in California.

Confirmation regarding the BBC's involvement with the series is expected shortly.

Episode 6 will be broadcast on Monday 15th June at 10pm, seeing Matt's father suffering a major health scare, and Sean and Beverly joining the former Friends star at his father's hospital bedside.
