Trollied to return for fifth series
Trollied is to return to screens for a fifth series.
The Sky1 sitcom set in a branch of fictional supermarket Valco has already had more than 40 episodes broadcast since 2011.
Star Jason Watkins, who plays Warrington branch manager Gavin Strong, responded a fan's questioning on Twitter on Saturday: "We start filming the 5th series of Trollied next month."
He added that he thought the series "should be [on] screens towards the end of the summer".
As in a real supermarket, the comedy - made by Ash Atalla's Roughcut TV - has had a high turnover of cast and characters. Whilst details for Series 5 have yet to be announced, Series 4 saw Samuel Anderson (Doctor Who), Stephen Tompkinson (Drop The Dead Donkey), stand-up Aisling Bea and Miriam Margolyes joining the team.
Previous co-stars have included Jane Horrocks, Mark Addy, Chanel Cresswell, Nick Blood, Joel Fry and Stephanie Beacham.
Long-term co-stars include Rita May, Carl Rice, Faye McKeever, Dominic Coleman, Beverly Rudd, Lorraine Cheshire and Victor McGuire.
Sky1 is expected to reveal details about Trollied Series 5 in the coming weeks.
