Morgana Robinson gets her own BBC Two pilot
Actor and impressionist Morgana Robinson will star in her own BBC Two sketch show pilot.
Morgana & Friends, from Happy Tramp productions, is expected to be broadcast later this year.
The show will see Morgana performing some of her favourite impersonations, as seen in previous series such as VIP and The Morgana Show.
These will include her own unique takes on Danny Dyer, Natalie Cassidy and Fearne Cotton, along with a new roster of impressions, including those of Joanna Lumley, Miranda Hart, Dame Maggie Smith and Karl Pilkington.
The BBC says: "Morgana & Friends will explore the world of celebrity both on and off camera, moving seamlessly between 'behind the scenes' ob-docs and a series of fictional celebrity-obsessed travelogues, cookery shows and fake sitcoms."
Robinson says: "The BBC has given me my own pilot! I'm so pleased, I can't believe it. It seems like only yesterday I didn't have my own BBC pilot. It was."
Shane Allen, the corporation's head comedy commissioner, explains: "Morgana is a shape-shifting comedy whirlwind whose star has risen quickly and we believe this is the show that'll take her from exciting new talent to household name."
Morgana Robinson can currently be seen as neighbour and bistro-owner Julie in Reeves & Mortimer sitcom House Of Fools, and has also recently appeared in Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe.
Morgana's 2014 iPlayer Original Comedy Shorts programme, Channel M, can still be watched online
From The Morgana Show, here is a sketch in which Robinson impersonates Fearne Cotton:
