Tom Rosenthal to host new social-media comedy pilot
Comedian and actor Tom Rosenthal will host a new comedy from the makers of Have I Got News For You.
The Plebs and Friday Night Dinner star will front a trial production of Meme, Myself & I on Monday 10th November.
Procuers Hat Trick describe the programme as "A hilarious new show in which a panel of comedians are unleashed on the social networking profiles of members of the public.
"The show will delve into the kind of online behaviour that we are all guilty of. We'll also be looking at the online personas of our celebrity panellists themselves."
Social media has been a focal point of many comedy pilots in recent years, but with little success. London Live recently completed broadcast of CTRL Freaks, in which three comedians are given control of peoples' social media accounts for a week in order to run their lives.
Meanwhile, a series called Delete Delete Delete, hosted by Rhod Gilbert and focusing on guests' internet history, was piloted in May.
Other formats have included Trending Topics with Jonathan Ross; @IAmChrisRamsey; Jon Richardson's Unpredictable; Russell Kane's Vidiots; @cuff; and the ITV2 series, Viral Tap.
