Channel 4 has announced the cast for its new sitcom Scrotal Recall.

Johnny Flynn, Antonia Thomas and Daniel Ings have been named as the three leads.

Flynn, a folk-rock singer who will also star in forthcoming new sitcom Mummy's Boys, takes on the lead role of Dylan Witter, "a hapless chap whose romantic conquests have landed him in a sticky situation".

Misfits star Antonia Thomas will play Dylan's longstanding friend Evie, with Daniel Ings (Pete Versus Life, The Café) as another friend, Luke.

Scrotal Recall focuses on Dylan as he must find everyone he's ever slept with to tell them he's contracted chlamydia. In each episode, Dylan seeks out a different girl from his sexual past as he's forced to remember a romantic encounter he'd previously tried to forget.

Not proud of the sizeable number of women he's bedded, Dylan decides to use this quest to make sense of all the squandered opportunities, broken promises, and romantic car-crashes.

Evie and Luke have been Dylan's friends for the past decade and decide to help him out in his 'labour of love', offering dodgy relationship advice and being around to pick up the pieces when it all goes drastically wrong.

A pilot episode of Scrotal Recall was filmed for the network's 4Funnies strand last year, with Cardinal Burns star Dustin Demri-Burns in the lead role at the time. However, rather than being broadcast during the run of comedies, the format was fast-tracked to series.

The comedy is written by Tom Edge (The Midnight Beast), produced by Charlie Leech (The Wrong Mans) and directed by Elliot Hegarty (Bad Education) and Gordon Anderson (Badults).

Fiona McDermott, acting deputy head of Channel 4 comedy, says: "Scrotal Recall is a brilliantly written modern comedy, a skilful mix of compelling love story, instantly original characters and erm... STDs. We're totally thrilled that we've got such a talented and exciting cast to bring it all to life."

Murray Ferguson from production company Clerkenwell Films adds: "This is a unique comedy with a fantastic cast, brimming with humour, heart and mild genital discomfort."

The six-part series will be shown on Channel 4 this autumn.
