Ian Stone to return with second series of The Football's On
Ian Stone will host a second series of The Football's On from next week on BT Sport.
A first series of the comic chat show ran for 19 episodes on the channel from mid-May until mid-July, covering the end of the regular football season as well as the World Cup in Brazil.
Now the series has been recommissioned and will return to the subscription channel from next Friday, 15th August, in a new time-slot of 10pm. The new series will also feature a full, live studio audience.
Running weekly, it is expected that the series will span the whole 2014-15 football season, which runs until the end of May.
The channel say today: "The Football's On returns to BT Sport for the 2015 Football Season. The one-hour comedy-themed show puts the boot into the beautiful game and has a laugh about it.
"Comedian and Arsenal fan, Ian Stone, will be joined each week by some of the countryʼs top football-mad comedians, as well as the addition of a live studio audience, to dissect football antics from on and off the pitch. The show's successful formula is an essential take on everything that happens in the world of football."
Ian Stone was joined in Series 1 by regular guest Doc Brown, and a range of comics including David Baddiel, Alan Davies, Henning Wehn, Mark Watson, Clive Anderson and Sean Lock.
The guests joining Stone for the first two episodes of Series 2 will be Andy Parsons and Charlie Baker, and Rob Beckett and Ian Moore. The series is recorded at BT Sport's studios at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London.
