Some Girls Series 3 begins filming
BBC Three's female-centric youth sitcom, Some Girls, has begun filming in south-west London.
Filming for the 6-part series is now taking place on location and at south-west London's Wimbledon Studios, with stars Adelayo Adedayo, Natasha Jonas, Mandeep Dhillon and Alice Felgate all returning for Series 3.
The new series will see the foursome nearing the end of their time at Greenshoots Academy, but still facing plenty of misadventures.
Producers say: "Still to come is all the excitement of their first music festival, romantic entanglements, the school prom and even the prospect that their school may be chosen to feature in a television documentary. What's more they need to find time to revise for exams, play a bit of football and hang out at Viva's house eating pizza."
Jimmy Mulville, executive producer and boss of production company Hat Trick, says: "Some Girls is brilliantly written and beautifully acted comedy. It's laugh-out-loud, funny and touchingly honest. Bernadette Davis is a writer at the top of her game and I'd be surprised if some of this cast don't go on to be household names. It's a gem of a show and Hat Trick is proud to make it."
Some Girls is written by Bernadette Davis, who co-created 1990s hit sitcom Game On. Series 3 is being produced by John Pocock and directed by Sasha Ransome.
Guest stars in the new series include Jocelyn Jee Esien (Little Miss Jocelyn) and Gary Damer (Hotel Trubble). Also returning to the show are Colin Salmon as Viva's fireman dad, Rob; Dolly Wells as tactless teacher and Rob's girlfriend, Anna; Jassa Ahluwalia as Rocky; and Nick Holder as headmaster Mr Jeffries.
The series is expected to begin later this year on BBC Three.
