Gavin Nelson is the chief reporter for The Weekly Herald, a provincial newspaper of little repute. His efforts to find an exciting local story are only matched by his efforts to get off with cub reporter Clare. In the age-old tradition of journalism, he doesn't let a simple thing like the truth get in the way of boosting the paper's circulation.
