Further details

The Pledges are off to Blackpool, but as soon as they arrive Eli doesn't like the hotel as it isn't licensed.

Things get even worse when he finds out he only has 10 shillings spending money for the week, until he opens the envelope to find the week's lodging money for the hotel - a total of £20.

After Lily, Walter and Stan all arrive at the same hotel, things come to a head and the landlady throws them all out into the street.
