My Wife Next Door

My Wife Next Door is a sitcom created by Brian Clemens and written by Richard Waring.

The series follows a couple, George Basset (John Alderton) and Suzie Basset (Hannah Gordon), each trying to start afresh after their divorce. Both move to the country - only to find that they have bought adjoining cottages.

One episode of the series won a British Academy Television Award for Best Situation Comedy in 1973. When the series was repeated in 1979 it gained more viewers than during its original run, and topped the BBC1 weekly ratings several times.
