Kris Marshall is Art, an aspiring low-budget film-maker whose overactive imagination turns everyday life into classic cinematic adventures.
Art and his friend Jones (Andrew Scott) think they're the English Coen brothers - except that they're not brothers and they haven't made any films. As they pursue their everyday lives haplessly attempting to carve themselves careers as indie film makers, unbeknownst to them their adventures follow the plot lines of iconic films.
Against this backdrop of playful homage, My Life In Film explores the triangle of love, friendship and obsession between Art, Jones and Beth (Alice Lowe), with a knowing nod to films such as The Shining, Shallow Grave and Top Gun.
