Roland Digby has a life that has been turned on its head. For him, the home is where work is, while the office is the place where he comes for peace and quiet: a sweet refuge from nagging wife Eleanor and their troubling children. This dichotomy has much to do with his remarkable, devoted secretary, Thelma Teesdale.
Thelma is unquestionably smitten by her boss - Assistant Public Relations Officer at leading pesticide company Rid-o-Rat - even with his regularly unappreciative, abrasive demeanour; and unfortunately for her, he has no idea of the extent of her adoration for him.
